Franklin Township School receives federal Title I funding under the Elementary and Secondary
\nEducation Act. Title I money pays for additional academic support for students who need it, and it
\ncarries specific rights for parents \u2014 including the right to ask about your child’s
\nteachers’ qualifications.<\/p>\n

Parents’ Right to Know<\/h2>\n

Every school receiving Title I funds must tell parents that they may ask about the professional
\nqualifications of their child’s teachers and paraprofessionals. Franklin Township School
\nreceives Title I funding, and we will share that information on request.<\/p>\n

The school must also notify you promptly if your child has been taught for four or more
\nconsecutive weeks by a teacher who does not meet New Jersey certification or licensure requirements.
\nAll educators in New Jersey are required to hold the appropriate state certificate or license for
\ntheir position.<\/p>\n

School-Parent Compact<\/h2>\n

The Title I School-Parent Compact sets out how the school, parents and students share
\nresponsibility for academic achievement. Under the compact the school undertakes to provide
\nhigh-quality curriculum and instruction, hold parent-teacher conferences at least annually, report
\non each child’s progress quarterly, keep staff reasonably accessible to parents by email and
\nphone, and offer opportunities to volunteer and observe in the classroom.<\/p>\n
