Franklin Township<br \/>\nSchool marks it with a week of activities focused on respect, kindness and friendship.<\/p>\n<h2>What Happens During the Week<\/h2>\n<p>Each day has a theme, and students are encouraged to dress to match it. Morning announcements<br \/>\ncarry a message tied to the day&#8217;s theme, and students take part in classroom activities and<br \/>\nwork across grade levels on shared tasks.<\/p>\n<h3>Spirit Week Themes<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mix It Up<\/strong> \u2014 wear mismatching clothes to celebrate the ways we are different, unique and creative. The message is about respecting and embracing difference.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Be a Team Player<\/strong> \u2014 wear a sports jersey as a reminder of the importance of teamwork, and of working together past difficult moments.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Kindness Never Gets a Day Off<\/strong> \u2014 complete a random act of kindness.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Love Yourself<\/strong> \u2014 a day about self-respect: exercise, nutrition, coping skills and managing stress. Wear athletic clothing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Go for the Gold and Blue<\/strong> \u2014 wear school colours to celebrate our community, and remember the Golden Rule.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Community Night<\/h2>\n<p>The school has previously held a Night of Respect for families in the cafeteria, with activities<br \/>\nsuch as painting kindness rocks to place around the community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"draft-note\"><strong>Draft note for the Steward \u2014 delete before publishing:<\/strong> Both source PDFs are old. The spirit week PDF is for 7-11 October and assigns themes to named weekdays; the community night flyer is dated 8 October 2019. I have kept the themes, which are durable, and dropped the specific dates and the day-by-day assignment, which are not. Add this year&#8217;s dates and running order before publishing.
