Level 1 is now Our School, Families &amp; Students, Academics, Departments,<br \/>\nAthletics &amp; Activities, Board of Education, and Staff &amp; HR.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Legal Notices<\/strong> was a duplicate top-level item; it is absorbed into Board of Education &rsaquo; Legal and Contracts.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Staff Directory<\/strong> was demoted from Level 1 into Our School.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Human Resources<\/strong> became the Staff &amp; HR section and split into five pages.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Community<\/strong> content folded into Our School, which freed a slot for <strong>Athletics &amp; Activities<\/strong> at Level 1.<\/li>\n<li>Promoting Athletics also fixed a structural problem: its sports pages previously sat four levels deep. They are now at Level 3, inside the limit.<\/li>\n<li>The menu now carries <strong>101 items<\/strong> across 7 top-level, 40 second-level and 54 third-level entries, generated from the page tree rather than maintained by hand.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pages\"><\/span>Pages<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>87 pages were built: 73 new, and 14 existing pages rewritten. Around <strong>23,000 words<\/strong> of<br \/>\ncontent in total. Roughly half was ported from the current site where the existing content was already<br \/>\nsound \u2014 the Special Services section in particular was well maintained and needed almost nothing.<br \/>\nThe rest was written from scratch or drawn out of PDFs.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pages_Added_Beyond_the_Restructure_Plan\"><\/span>Pages Added Beyond the Restructure Plan<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Families &amp; Students &rsaquo; Supply Lists<\/strong> &#8212; the back-to-school supply lists were<br \/>\nonly a shared-drive document linked from the home page, so they were not in the page inventory at all.<br \/>\nThey are now a page in their own right, grade by grade, and one of the ten home page quick links.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Departments &rsaquo; School Nurse &rsaquo; Head Lice<\/strong> &#8212; the plan listed this as a bare<br \/>\nexternal link in the navigation. Standard 2.7 requires the originating page to explain where an external<br \/>\nlink goes, so it became a short page instead.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Content_Drawn_Out_of_PDFs\"><\/span>Content Drawn Out of PDFs<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Several pages on the current site consist only of attachments. Where the underlying document<br \/>\ncontained information that should have been readable on the page, it was written out as HTML and the<br \/>\nPDF kept alongside it for reference. This is the pattern Standard 2.2 asks for: the PDF stays, but it<br \/>\nis no longer the only way to find out what the page is about.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Gifted &amp; Talented<\/strong> \u2014 was a banner image with no text. Now describes the identification model, program goals and Board policy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Athletic Offerings<\/strong> \u2014 was an embedded PDF. Now lists every school and community sport by season.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Learning from Home<\/strong> \u2014 was two PDFs. They are faults in the live ftschool.org content and need<br \/>\nfixing there regardless of what happens to this project.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Two policy documents are unreachable.<\/strong> On the Drug and Alcohol page, the Policy and Regulation links point at <code>file:\/\/\/C:\/Users\/\u2026\/Desktop\/<\/code> \u2014 a path on someone&#8217;s laptop. They have never worked for any visitor.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Every staff email address is obscured.<\/strong> All 18 render as the literal text <code>[email&#160;protected]<\/code> rather than an address, which fails Standard 2.5. They were decoded and restored as real text in the mockup.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Two spellings of the counselor&#8217;s address<\/strong> are both in use across the site. One of them is wrong.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Teacher Webpages is dead.<\/strong> It renders &#8220;Could not find any faculty or staff.&#8221; The same empty output appears on three other pages.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Baseball and Softball<\/strong> are empty schedule tables \u2014 no coach, no fixtures.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Duplicate documents<\/strong> \u2014 the lead water certification and the pest management plan are each listed twice on the same page.<\/li>\n<li><strong>A permission slip contradicts itself<\/strong>, giving two different dates in the same document, and names a Principal and a Guidance Counselor who have both moved on.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Home_Page\"><\/span>The Home Page<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Rebuilt against the Committee&#8217;s page review. The arrows stay visible and disable at the ends<br \/>\nrather than vanishing, and the next card is deliberately left half showing so it is obvious there is<br \/>\nmore to see. The quick links stay static: hiding those is what made the term an oxymoron.<\/p>\n<p>The banner uses a photograph of the school itself, sized so the section beneath stays just in view<br \/>\n&#8212; that peek is the cue that there is more page below. The header carries the crest, a working<br \/>\nsearch box and a language selector.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"One_Thing_Worth_Recording\"><\/span>One Thing Worth Recording<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The district mission statement was reported as missing when the page inventory was built. It is not<br \/>\nmissing \u2014 it is published on the current home page, and that adopted wording is now on both the home<br \/>\npage and the Mission &amp; Vision page. No new mission text has been written; inventing one is not a<br \/>\ndrafting exercise.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_the_Standards_Guide_Now_Requires\"><\/span>What the Standards Guide Now Requires<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The full document is <em>Website Standards &amp; Best Practices, Version 1.0<\/em>. In short, and in the<br \/>\norder stewards will meet them:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Every page carries real text.<\/strong> An image or an attached PDF is not a substitute for explaining what a page is for (2.1).<\/li>\n<li><strong>PDFs are for external documents.<\/strong> Anything the district writes itself belongs on the page as text. Where a PDF is used, the page says what it is and who it is for (2.2).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Abbreviations are spelled out on first use<\/strong>, and never used alone in a navigation label. FTS is the only exception (2.3).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Content lives in one place.<\/strong> Other pages link to it rather than repeating it (2.4).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Contact details are text, never inside an image<\/strong> (2.5).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dead pages are removed<\/strong>, not left in place (2.6).<\/li>\n<li><strong>External links open in a new tab, are labeled as external<\/strong>, and the page explains where they go (2.7).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Seven top-level items, twelve second-level items per section<\/strong>, and third-level navigation only where the structure genuinely needs it (3.1).<\/li>\n<li><strong>A page has one name<\/strong> \u2014 identical in the dropdown, the sidebar and the page title (3.3).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Title case throughout.
