Multi-Tiered System of Supports
MTSS at Franklin Township School
Franklin Township School District’s MTSS process is composed of three tiers of support. Tier I is experienced by all students in the general education classroom and is characterized by differentiated core instruction, school-wide behavior management practices and social-emotional learning. If a student needs academic or behavioral/social-emotional support beyond what is provided at Tier I, the student will be referred to the MTSS Committee for placement in Tier II interventions. At Tier II, students receive targeted instructional or behavioral/social-emotional support designed to meet their unique needs and facilitate their success in the general education classroom. Students who do not respond to Tier II interventions maybe referred to MTSS Tier III, where they will experience more intensive interventions.
