Genesis – Your Information Portal
Genesis is Franklin Township School District’s student information system. Parents and guardians, have access to the GENESIS PARENT PORTAL to do the following:
- Fill out or acknowledge beginning-of-the-year forms and agreements online.
- View your student’s class schedule and teachers.
- View your student’s graded assignments and report cards.
- Report your student absent and view attendance records.

Reporting an Absence
Report your child absent from school in one of these three ways:
- via Genesis Parent Portal
- Email ftsnurse@ftschool.org and secretary@ftschool.org
- Call the School Office at (908)735-7929 option 2.
How to Report Absence in Genesis Parent Portal
- Sign in to the Genesis Parent Portal.
- On the Summary tab, under This Week, click the Notify Attendance Office link.
- Select Absent from the Student will be dropdown box.
- Click the checkbox next to your child(ren) about whom you are reporting absent.
- Type a brief reason for your child(ren)’s absence.
- Click the Submit to Office button.

Reporting Parent Concerns
During the course of the school year, a parent/guardian may have a concern, complaint, suggestion or request related to a school decision or policy. Many questions are easily and completely answered by communicating directly with the person in-charge of the class, activity or program. Each situation should first be addressed at whatever level the initial action was taken, with appeals moving on to the next level in the chain of command.
In order to facilitate this process, please use the following chain as a means of problem-solving:
Academic Concerns:
- Teacher
- Counselor
- Principal
- Superintendent
Behavior/Attendance/Discipline Concerns
