High School Scheduling Information

Franklin Township School students move on to North Hunterdon High School. This page covers the
transition: the freshman orientation visit, course selection, and the registration paperwork.

Freshman Orientation

Eighth grade students visit North Hunterdon High School for a freshman orientation program,
together with eighth graders from the other middle schools in the North Hunterdon sending area. The
program introduces students to the Freshman Learning Community, the academic and vocational subject
choices, and the athletics and club offerings. A signed permission slip is required for a student to
take part.

Course Selection and Registration

Students choose their ninth grade courses in the winter of eighth grade, with guidance from the
school counselor. North Hunterdon provides a registration form and a scheduling presentation for
families.

Draft note for the Steward — delete before publishing: The orientation permission slip on the live site is badly out of date: it names Lindsay Gooditis as Principal and Karin Stumpf as Guidance Counselor, neither of whom is current, and it gives January dates that contradict each other within the same document (7 January in the body, 9 January on the tear-off). I have written the page around what is durable and left the dates out. The permission slip needs reissuing before this page goes live.
