Affirmative Action
Franklin Township School District is committed to providing equal employment and educational
opportunity, and prohibits discrimination and harassment on the basis of any protected characteristic.
This applies to employment decisions, to access to programs and activities, and to the conduct of
staff and students.
Making a Complaint
Anyone who believes they have experienced discrimination or harassment may file a complaint using
the Affirmative Action complaint form. Complaints are handled by the district’s Affirmative
Action Officer.
Title IX
Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs and activities
receiving federal funding, including in athletics. Board Regulation 2224.1 sets out how the district
meets those obligations.

Draft note for the Steward — delete before publishing: The district’s Affirmative Action Officer and Title IX Coordinator must be named on this page with contact details — federal law requires it and no name appears anywhere on the current site. Please supply. Also: the complaint form is currently filed as “AA_Complaint_Form (3)”, which Standard 2.2 names as an example of an unacceptable file name. The wording above about protected characteristics is generic; replace it with the list actually used in Policy 2224.
