Assessments & Results
Students at Franklin Township School take a mix of state-mandated and district assessments. State
testing measures performance against the New Jersey Student Learning Standards; district benchmark
assessments are given several times a year so that teachers can adjust instruction and identify
students who need additional support.
New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA)
The NJSLA is New Jersey’s statewide assessment in English Language Arts, Mathematics and
Science. Results are reported to families individually and published in aggregate.
Annual Notification of Assessments
Each year the district publishes a notification listing every assessment students will sit, when
it will be given, and what it measures.
