This page covers how students reach their schoolwork from outside school — day to day, and during
any period when the school building is closed.

Accessing Assignments from Home

Students access their digital textbooks and school applications through the Chrome browser, signed
in with their FTS Google account.

  1. Open Chrome on your home device. If you do not have Chrome, download it from
    google.com/chrome (external).
  2. Click the profile circle in the top right corner of the Chrome window.
  3. If your FTS account is not listed, click + Add and sign in with your FTS Google account.
  4. Click FTS Bookmarks in the bookmarks bar to reach your school apps and digital textbooks.

If you cannot see the FTS Bookmarks folder, check that you are signed in to Chrome with your FTS
Google account, and that the bookmarks bar is set to show: ⋮ > Bookmarks > Show
Bookmarks Bar.

Genesis Student Portal

Students in grades 6-8 can sign in to the Genesis Student Portal to see grades, assignments, class
schedule and report cards. Open Genesis Student Portal from the FTS Bookmarks folder and choose
Sign in with Google.

Virtual or Remote Instruction Plan

New Jersey requires every district to file a plan setting out how instruction continues if the
school building must close. The plan covers how lessons are delivered, how attendance is taken, how
students with disabilities and multilingual learners continue to receive their services, and how
families without devices or internet access are supported.
